CO-Pilot Course

Do you have a person sitting in the right seat?

For over 20 years, Skypark’s Co-Pilot or Pinchhitters course has been teaching the people who sit in the right seat. Topics include parts of the airplane, the basic instruments, radios, chart reading, airspace, pilotage and VOR navigation and landing the airplane. The course is hands on and includes an hour of dual instruction with a flight instructor.

The class meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 PM in the community room for 3 weeks. Cost is $140.00. Class size is limited to 10 students.

Spring session is May 7th, 10th, 14th,17th,21th, and 24th.

Fall session is September 10th,13th,17th,20th,24th,and 27th.

If you noticed the New Weather Center in flight operations, it is the handi-work of Chris. He arranged, working with his employer, to up-grade our wireless system. Stag Flight to Sun and Fun

The second Meeting for the 2012 Stag flight to “Sun and Fun” in Lakeland Fla. will be Thursday March 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Community Room. Private Pilot Ground School

The Skypark Private Pilot Ground School is now forming for 2012. This 15 week class will prepare you for the Private Pilot Knowledge test. Fall Trip 2011

The Fall Trip was October 14 – 16. The destination was Savannah Georgia. Four Aircraft departed Friday October 14th. Boy was it windy! Bud and Michele Steward, Russ and Holly Clawsen were in Bud’s 182 R/G. They were first off at 0915. Bruce and Connie Anderson , Hal Baker and his Friend were next in a Piper Dakota and departed at 0940. Tony and Sandra Harding left at 10:10 in their Piper. Warren Novotny and his wife departed at 1745 in a 182 R/G and arrived at 11:30. On the return trip Warren brought Russ and Holly back to Skypark.They arrived at 4:40 on Sunday. Bruce Anderson was 50 miles behind Warren and arrived at 17:00. Bud and Michele went on to Florida to visit family. Tony and Sandra Harding stopped in Virginia to visit family on the way back!
